Windy Wyoming is once again hosting a winter jumper series for 2013/2014. We are back at Hansen Arena, with registration for each show starting at 8am, and the shows starting at 9am. Come join us for jumping fun and "fierce competition" as we vie for first place treats , division ribbons, and season end prizes. Not to mention the bragging rights : ). Our dates are November 16, December 14, January 18, February 22, and March 29. These are all Saturdays, leaving your Sundays for well earned rest and relaxation. ~~~~~ Hot News For Windy Wyoming Competitors And Spectators!!!
The Windy Wyoming Horse Trials isn't the only horse show going on at the Wyoming Territorial Prison this Saturday, September 14. Be sure to check out the "Butch Cassidy Shoot Out", a full Breyer model horse show set to take place in the historic blue Horse Barn building. Much like Windy Wyoming, the competition draws competitors from all over the region who proudly display their models, tack and accessories in various classes. The Shoot Out competition will begin promptly at 8am and run until 5:30. Best part, your armband (provided with your entry in WW) gives you full access to everything going on at the prison! Be sure to leave yourself some time to check out not only this highly entertaining horse show, but also a great piece of Wyoming history.
2013 WWHT Stabling Information: Windy Wyoming will be offering several stabling options this year. We have on-site, uncovered 12x12 pens available for $20 per night. These pens are made of tall pipe panels and are tarpable. We are also offering off-site covered stabling for $30 per night. This stabling option is offered at facilities approximately 5 minutes (about 3 miles) from the event site. The stabling at these facilities are large covered stalls with runs. There are other overnight facilities available in Laramie if these do not meet your needs. All stabling is offered on a first come, first serve basis from Thursday, September 12 through Monday, September 16. Please indicate your stabling preference on your 2013 HT stabling form, included with your entry form. An initial bag of shavings is included with the two stabling options listed above. Additional bedding is available for purchase at the WWHT site. Wow! How did it get to be August? Summer is sure flying by, and we are ramping up our preparations for the 2013 Windy Wyoming Horse Trials, running September 13-15. Once again, our event will be held at the historic Wyoming State Territorial Prison. This year, we are offering all levels from Beginner Novice Easy (2'3") to Preliminary. We are also offering both YEH and FEH tests on Friday, as well as schooling show jump rounds (open to all, you can enter at the grounds on Friday). Do not have a horse, but want to be part of the fun? Volunteer! We can always use help, particularly on Friday and Saturday. We'll feed ya, and water ya, and offer our profound gratitude because our event can not run without our amazing volunteer force. WW Winter Schooling Jumper Show Series!!! Our winter jumper show series ended with a bang and beautiful weather. Many thanks to everyone who came out to spectate, participate, or volunteer. Congratulations to our series winners: John M. and Mighty Bob in the X-Pole Division, Kinley and Isis in the 18" Division, Lorraine and Chad in the 2' Division, Debby and Rocket in the Equitation Division, John T. and Odie in the 2'6" Division, Dulce and Cheech in the 3' Division, Lorraine and Maurice in the 3'6" Division, and Christian and Gigi in the 4' Division.
Dust off your saddles, brush off your fuzzy ponies, and come join us Saturday March 2, 2013 for a day of fun with long stirrups! We are offering USDF, USEA, and now WDAA (Western Dressage Association of America) tests, so there's something for everyone. The ever friendly Kathleen Donnelly is back to judge for us, and is offering a clinic the following day.
